"THE BLING RING"
I don't know about you girls, but once in every blue moon, a movie that puts an emphasis on fashion comes out, I dart to theaters to see the midnight premiere! I am so exhilarated to see this film for many reasons. Number one is that, obviously, it is a movie that features fashion. Stacy Battat (costume designer) emphasizes using designers that were popular during the time that the actual incident happened. So don't be surprised if you see Emma Watson sporting the infamous Juicy Couture sweatsuit. Battat says, most of the characters of the movie snagged monogrammed Louis Vuitton bags, and that the movie featured a lot of Dior. The second reason I will be racing to the box office to see this is that it is based on an actual true story, for me this makes the movie ten times more interesting, but also believable. The synopsis of the movie basically consists of a group of fame-obsessed teenagers use the internet to track celebrities' whereabouts in order to rob their homes. This production features the always lovely, Emma Watson, knowing that she chooses her roles tastefully, this movie should be a great one! The Bling Ring is set to be released this coming Friday, June 14. Let me know what you guys think about this movie, are you going to go see it?

Hi Hannah, you added me as a friend on IFB, so I decided to stop by and give you some love.

I didn't know about this movie, but thanks for sharing, you made me curious. :) I love movies that feature fashion too, and my favorites are "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Sex and the City". I like and admire Patricia Field as costume designer for fashion flings. She's also the costume designer of "Confessions of a Shopaholic" starring Isla Fisher as Rebecca Bloomwood, but this movie didn't seem as expressive from the fashion point of view as the other ones.
ReplyDeleteIn "The Devil Wears Prada", my favorite outfit was the white Chanel coat that Andy Sachs wears on the streets of Manhattan after her magical transformation from the ugly duckling to the beautiful swan. :)
Have a great week ahead!
